There's no such thing as Gauss's Law for magnetism. del dot b = 0 has no name. U can't just slap Gauss's name on everything just cause he was a badass.

I for one do not believe in a magnetic monopole. I've been fighting my way since my third semester to make people understand the relationship between electrical and magnetic fields. It's such a crystallized concept of their separation (and basically cultural) to some people that I get a hard time saying "Come on, they are THE SAME THING, it just depends on how you look at it"

I'm getting Maxwell-Dirac equations put on my arm. Dirac's monopoles are very likely to be below the level of practical detection (e.g. SQID experiments. So in this version ,the charges and currents are imaginary valued. Theoretically, the coupling strength between two magnetic charges is about 100,000 times stronger than electric charges. This explains why magnetic fields have a fundamental dipole nature (i.e. the two 'charges' or North and South poles are coupled together). Oh yea, you're missing the dot symbol between the Del and B.

Umm.. the tattoo is showing the gradiant of B is zero. It should be the divergence of B is zero. Go back to your artist and get that one fixed.

Haha, ed's right. This is Gauss' Law for magnetism and u definitely look like a retard for writing in all caps...

My comment, however, is that I don't know what physicists you're talking to, but "most" don't believe in magnetic monopoles. Many people believe that aliens have visited earth, and that time travel is possible... Those that know better know that magnetic monopoles most likely do not exist because it can be shown that if you can have a magnetic monopole, you can have perpetual motion (i.e. free energy). Unless conservation of energy is no longer valid, and matter can be created, magnetic monopoles shall remain fiction.

actually, that is one of Gauss' Laws (for magnetism)...consider what you know next time you think about writing in all caps.
